In our recent conversation when I was doing the story on the road work
schedule for the old downtown, you and I talked about whether some of
groups in old town could give input on things such as creative construction
signaqe, placement of signs, and other positive ideas for the construction
process. Wanted to let you know that the groups have gotten together to talk
about ideas and have selected persons for a task force, with a few represen-
tatives from each group (business group, landowners, farmers market, cham-
ber, historical society). We look forward to hearing when we can meet. We
have committed to making this a positive experience for all parties and have a
number of ideas
As you and I talked about, the group would like to ask if you could include
dollars in the construction contract for things such as creative signaqe, mar-
keting of the area during a time that will be hard for businesses and the farm-
ers market, and special City and other events to attract people during con-
struction and make it a learning experience. Let us know about this.
