Coppell Road Outfall Earth Balance Process
DATE:
January 29, 2010
In order to measure the earth - balance for the Coppell Road Storm System Outfall a comparison had to be
made between the proposed outfall contours and the City of Coppell 2ft contours. To make this
comparison the following steps were taken:
• Set the proposed outfall contours to actual elevations and create a surface from those contours in
AutoCad Civil 31).
• Create a surface from the City of Coppell 2ft contours in AutoCad Civil 31).
• Create a volume comparison between the proposed outfall contours and the City of Coppell 2ft
contours using AutoCad Civil 3D's Surface Utility volume calculator.
AutoCad Civil 3D's volume calculator determines the cut, fill and net volumes for the comparison
surfaces. The Outfall 31) Rotated detail, on the attached Exhibit EX A, shows the outfall in a rotated
view. This view shows how the 3:1 side slopes of the outfall tie into the existing 2ft contours surface.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
