Dear Mr. Echols:
On Friday, July 7, 1989, I visited the site to review the Paving
and Utility construction on the referenced contract. This date
is 88 days from the project start date which was April 10, 1989.
The contract time is 120 calendar days. Contract completion date
is August 7, 1989.
I reviewed the site with Mr. Larry Davis, construction inspector
with the Engineering Department of the City of Coppell. The
contractor, L. H. Lacy Company, had recently completed all
concrete paving operations with the exception of the connection
of the driveway from the High School site to the High School
Access Road. During my visit, workmen arrived at the site and
appeared to be grading the subgrade for this connection. No
other construction was underway during my visit.
Mr. Davis had concerns regarding the appearance of the median
nose concrete on the east side of the Parkway Boulevard/High
School Access Road intersection. The median nose should have a
three foot radius in accordance with the plans. The constructed
shape appeared irregular. Mr. Davis will direct the contractor
to remove the median nose concrete at this location and replace
it accordance w~th. the plans.
From visual observation, the following work remains
performed under this contract.

We are currently awaiting results of the 28 day concrete strength
tests in order to verify compliance of concrete strength with
specifications. Twenty-eight day concrete strength test results
should be available around July 25, 1989. Surveyors will check
the grade of the constructed streets this week.
Once it is known that the concrete strength is acceptable, the
street grade is verified and brick pavers are installed, the City
and contractor may open the constructed roadways to traffic.
If you have any questions, please call.
