Nu Tone, Inc. 850 Northlake Drive Suite #500 Coppell, Texas 75019 RE: TRAFFIC CONTROL PROBLEMS @ NORTHLAKE DRIVE AND BELTLINE ROAD Dear Mr. Fitzgerald: Thank you for your August 30, 1989, letter concerning the possible need for improvements to the traffic control at the Northlake Drive and Beltline Road intersection. City staff investigated that intersection and reviewed our police records. No accidents have been reported or filed with the Police Department; however, we do feel some measures should be taken in response to the information contained in your letter, and our field investigation. We will be taking the following actions: The 50 mph zone has been shifted to the east, and a 30 mph zone has been established in the vicinity of your drive entrance. There will be a warning sign installed for eastbound traffic alerting them that the intersection is ahead. These are the most immediate actions that can be taken. In regard to the parking restrictions and the 30 ~ph speed sign on Northlake Drive, City staff will review that situation and prepare required ordinances for City Council consideration and approval. We will keep you info~med on the progress of these actions. If, in the interim, you should have any questions, please feel free to contact Project Engineer Shohre Daneshaand, or City Engineer Russell Doyle. We appreciate your bringing this matter to our attention, and after all proposed action is taken, better traffic control will exist, as you have alluded to in your letter. Regarding your concern about trailer trucks access/exit from Northlake Drive, when Beltline Road is improved to a six lane divided facility; please be assured that, while we are not yet under design in this area, those traffic considerations will be taken into account. Please feel free to contact us at anytime in the future. Thank you. Sincerely, City )~anager w / ADR/RRD/lsg xc: Steve Goram, Director of Public Works Russell R.
