Re: Status Report - Belt Line Road South
Dear Mr. Ratliff:
We have been meeting with Ed Bell Construction Co. during the
past week to finalize the quantities and costs for the Belt Line
Road project.
LANDSCAPE
During this past week the Contractor has re-hydromulched some of
the bare spots. He has also been issued a final punch list of
items to correct before final acceptance of the proj. ect.
RETAINAGE
As soon as we receive the Final Request for Payment from the
Contractor, we will review it and recommend to the City that the
retainage (currently approximately $300,000) be reduced to an
amount applicable to cover only the remaining deficiencies.
TIMETABLE FOR ACCEPTANCE
The current plan is to allow a couple of weeks for the new hydro
mulch to "take hold" and then apply a week k~ller (spray
application) around the first of September. Prior to that time
any weed killer might harm the immature hydromulch grass. We
will coordinate with the Parks Department for the assumption of
maintenance duties once the weeds are killed and the punch list
completed.
Please call if you have any questions.
sincerely,
H. Wayne Ginn, P.E.
