ST9304-CS 890731DALLAS COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS July 31, 1989 Mr. Steve Lemke Dunaway Associates, Inc. 4100 International Plaza, Tower II Suite 636 Fort Worth, Texas 76109 Re: Belt Line Road Project 490-402 and 403 (MacArthur Boulevard to I.H. 35E) Dear Mr. Lemke: As discussed with you by telephone on July 31, 1989, we have reviewed the construction plans for Valley Ranch Center (DAI Job No. 88047-02) for possible conflicts with the referenced projects. There does not appear to be any conflicts. Coordination of construction is required on several items. These items are as follows: 1. The driveway approaches at Belt Line Centerline Stations 63+72.16 and 65+00.19 will be constructed by others after completion of the east bound lanes. Access is not required at these locations during construction. The County will leave 18 inch blockouts for the future driveways at the locations noted on Sheet 6 of the Valley Ranch Center. You confirmed that the stationing shown is that of the Belt Line Road project. 2. The driveway approaches at Belt Line Centerline Stations 66+92.11 and 68+36.03 will be constructed with temporary all weather surface pavement by the Valley Ranch Center contractor. These approaches should be constructed after the box culvert storm drain along Belt Line Road is complete. As discussed, the permanent approaches were not included in the County's project. The driveway approaches may be constructed with our project by one of the following methods: The City of Coppell requests the County to construct the approaches and the City to fund the costs. The Contractor for Valley Ranch Center constructs the approaches concurrent with the paving operation. The owner of Valley Ranch Center contracts with Austin Paving, the County's Contractor, to construct the approaches concurrent with the paving operation. 411 Elm Street Dallas, Texas 75202 653-7151 Mr. Steve Lemke July 31, 1989 Page 2 During the east bound lanes paving operation, it is advantageous for all parties that one driveway approach be closed. A leave out in the main lanes would be provided at the other driveway to maintain access. As soon as the curing time for the main lanes in this area is complete and the approach is constructed, traffic will be switched and then the main lanes will be completed at the leave out location. 3. Line 'A' of the Valley Ranch Center is designed to connect to a stub out from the Belt Line Road storm drainage system. It is suggested that the Valley Ranch Center Contractor schedule installation of Line 'A' concurrent with the County's work. Contact Mr. Les Foster of Austin Paving at 951-9525 for their schedule. 4. The temporary 18 inch R.C.P. at the southeast corner of the Valley Ranch Center is no longer necessary since the 10 foot by 6 foot box culvert has been installed. 5. The curb return stations for the driveway approaches revised to match Sheet 6 of the'Valley Ranch Center plans are as follows: Station 62+90.27 63+61.16 64+66.40 65+36.40 66+53.93 67+23.93 67+94.81 68+64.81 Sheets GP-1, GP-2 and GP-3 of the Belt Line Road plans will be revised accordingly. 6. Please note that the construction of the 4 foot sidewalk along Belt Line Road should be delayed until the paving and backfill operations are completed. This will minimize the possibility of damaging the sidewalk. Should you have any questions regarding the above items, please contact me. Sincere~ Allen Bud Beene, P.E.
