SS9301-CS 920224 (4) Status of Grapevine Creek Sewer Opposition
Tuesday night we presented the petitions and officially lodged our protest over
the proposed installation of the sewer line. Several important points were made.
1. This opposition is shared by both Meadowcreek and Bethel Road home
owners. We had approximately 150 names on the petition with virtually every
homeowner on either side of the creek signing.
2. The opposition is to a sewer line anywhere between Bethel Road and
Meadowcreek, in the creek or in our back yards.
3. It was our desire for the city to investigate and present feasibilities of
alternate routes that would not effect nearly as many homeowners as the current
proposal.
The city council heard our concerns. They seemed to be impressed by our
numbers on the petition and at the meeting. They seemed to be particularly
impressed that this was a joint effort from both sides of the creek. They did commit
to bring this up again before further action is taken.
Several next steps need to be discussed, and we are having another meeting at
224 E. Bethel at ,1:00 PM Sunday. Meadowcreek residents, as well as Creekview
residents are encouraged to attend. We have made a great start but can't lose
momentum. Please come if you can.
