Re: Sandy Lake Road Water Line
Alignment Modifications - Wagon Wheel Ranch Tank to North Point Drive
Dear Mr. Griffin:
As you requested, we have evaluated the work effort required to re-design the Sandy Lake Road Water Line,
from the Wagon Wheel Ranch Elevated Storage Tank to State Road. You have explained the re-design is
necessary due to unavoidable delays in acquiring the easements required for the project. In order to keep the
project moving forward and work towards the goal of completing this critical project prior to the peak water
demand period this summer, you have suggested an alternative route for the water line. We understand the
new route is to generally follow the north property line of the Wagon Wheel Ranch property over to State
Road, then north along the west fight-of-way line of State Road to Sandy Lake Road and the original
alignment of the project. The enclosed exhibit shows our understanding of the revised alignment you wish us
to use in the re-design of the project.
This re-alignment consists of approximately 4,400 linear feet of the project, representing just under 50% of the
project currently under construction. We propose to be compensated for our work on the re-design based on
actual salary cost times a multiplier of 2.35, with expenses billed at actual invoice amount times 1.15. On this
basis, we suggest the City budget in the range of $6,000 to $6,500. This budget estimate includes design and
control surveys, designing and drafting of four new plan-profile construction sheets, recalculation of project
quantities and preparation of the necessary field change or change order to the construction contract.
