Kenko Job #9306
* Contract time extension
Dear Sirs:
As discussed in the meeting of January 13, 1994, regarding the
referenced project, Kenko requests a contract time extension of 90
calendar days for Change Order No. 3 on behalf of Southland
Contracting (ref: Southland's letter of January 21, attached)
Kenko, Inc., completed open cut operations up to approximately
Station 82+50 on July 28, 1993. It is anticipated that if open cut
construction had been utilized through Station 89+13 this work
could have been completed by August 14, 1993.
However, to minimize damage to existing trees the Owner
elected to micro-tunnel this section. This work was performed by
Southland Contracting during the months of September, October and
November. According to our records this additional micro-tunneling
was completed on November 11, 1993.
, Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Kenko, Inc.

Re: Grapevine Creek Sewer Trunk Main, Coppell. Texas
Dear Dan:
Per your letter dated January 3. 1994. and the
discussion at the meeting with Nr. Oinn and Hr. Campbell in
Coppell, th~ final decision that, at this time, in order to
complete the proiect on time, to not do the ~est side o~
Denton Tap Road with open cut. In order to complete the
project in ample time, plus the additional mlcrotunneling
which was added, knowing the production was much lower than
originally anticipated, we request for that change, an
_. additional ninety days to the contract time.
We find that the boring .lOg does not accurately indicate
what we have found at the Cul De Sac, The roll control
reouirement on the ~aehine i:s different in the wet sand and
silt than that used in the shale. There£ore the recelvlns
shafts ~ill have to be excavated prior to starting a push so
that we will have a better fe.~l for how to ~et up. This will
continue until we Eot into the solid shale that was
anticipated uv the lin~.
Sincerely,
