ST8807-CS 890215COPPELL PUBLIC WORKS MEMO~~ February 15, 1989 TO: FROM: RE: Steve Goram, Director of Public Works Steven M. Morton, Chief Public Works Inspector Royal Ln. Extension North Pre-Construction Meeting On 2/14/89 @ 2:00 p.m., Public Works Inspection conducted a pre-construction meeting for the Royal Ln. Extension North. Attending meeting was Bill Anderson of Robert & Dowdey, James Gaspard of Connell Development, Ted Moss of Cullam, and Dave Snyder of L. H. Lacy. A summary of major topics that were discussed are as follows. Hydromulching: Discussion surrounded the timing of placement of hydromulching, seeing that both contracts have a portion of it. It was determined that it would be best accomplished after final grading was verified by Engineering and prior to acceptance. Trench Safety: Jim Gaspard submitted the Trench Safety Plan. Ted Moss said that they would be using a pull box while excavating along Thweatt Road. Barricades & Traffic Control: Ted Moss was informed that they would be required to provide v.p., light v.p., and flagmen for Thweatt and at the south end of project and that they would be maintaining on a minimum of a weekly basis. Barricades would remain in-place till trenches are filled and/or project accepted. Concrete: Notified Dave Snyder that he would have to submit his batch design prior to pouring. Dave asked if he could use the existing batch plans for Denton Tap C.I.P. to pour Royal. I directed him to Ginn Inc. and Russel Doyle and requested a approval letter from them be submitted to me. Dave Snyder was also notified that they would be responsible for maintenance of Thweatt Rd., ie: damaged caused by concrete trucks during construction. Ted Moss of Cullam brought up two points that will have to be addressed. 1) Trees along the south right-of-way will be in the way (over hang) of the construction of the 12" water line. Resident is adamant that the trees are not to be touched. All parties agreed not to do anything in those areas until a determination can be made or decision on how to proceed. 2) The storm drainage outfall through the northern private property will need to be graded 1' to make channel drain. James Gaspard of Connell said they were on good relations with property owners and would get permission to grade. SMM/bb
