Notifying Minyard's, the City of Coppell (Steve Morton at 462-8495} and any other affected parties in writing at least four days prior to any work, particularly when water service will be affected. maintaining and removal of temporary 4" connection Constructing, between Minyard's 4" service line and their 10" fire line. Upon notification by Steve Morton, remove the temporary PVC connection between the tapping valves in his presence. Plug the tapping valves. Constructing, maintaining and removal of a temporary detour to lower the existing 16" concrete cylinder water line. Allow a minimum at all times of one, eleven foot lane each direction in Freeport Parkway, complete with approved barricading and warning devices. Provide crushed rock to maintain detour. for testing. The 10" fire line and the 16" concrete cylinder water line will be for testing by using blow offs or separate taps connecting potable water to the new construction Use a double check valve to preclude drawing highly chlorinated water back into the main system. Meter all water used. Provide gallonage to Steve Morton (462-8495). Draining the 10" Minyard fire line to remove stagnate water. (Do not drain this water into their parking lot; use nearby swales.) Draining the 16" concrete cylinder line. Replenishing these lines The City will not charge the contractor for the water used in testing. Do not recharge any line by simply opening a 10" or 16" in- line valve. 7. Provide all testing and equipment necessary to meet City of Coppell testing requirements. Verify test requirements. Lower 16" Concrete Cylinder Water Line October 29, 1987 Page 2 SUGGESTEO SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION: 1. Flush existing 10" fire line to remove stagnate water. 2. Furnish, install and test 10" DI water line. 3. Make temporary 4" PVC connection between 4" service and Minyard's 10" fire line. 4. Notify Minyard's, the City of Coppell and others that might be affected by the shutdown of the existing 16" concrete cylinder water line in Freeport. Cut off valves for this line are located in Bethel Road and south of the railroad near the existing water tower along Freeport. 5. Furnish, install, coordinate, maintain and test the lowering ofthe existing 16" concrete cylinder water line. Work shall be performed on a weekend - around the clock until complete. Begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Complete all work and testing by 10:00 a.m. Monday morning.. MEASUReR liD PA)INEIIT: The price per linear foot to lower the existing ~.~16" concrete cylinder line shall be full compensation for furnishing all ::::i!"::i::~':!~-materials including 16" ddctile iron pipe, concrete cylinder to ductile ::i:i:?:~-~'~i:~:.iron adapters, blocking, fittings, restrainer glands with galvanized bolts/nuts, a flushing point, concrete encasement, for all preparation, .~!,matntenance, erections and installations of the materials, for all labor :~:tncluding barricades and warning devices {temporary detours), flushing, .ii:?:!equipment, excavation, embedment, backfill to 95% density, polywrap,' -tools, purging, pressure tests, sterilization, coordination with Minyard's and City of Coppell, for removal of the existing concrete cylinder line, overtime and other incidentals necessary to complete the work. The price per foot for lowering the 16" concrete cylinder line will also include the construction, maintenance, and removal of the 4" temporary connection between Minyard's 10" fire line and 4" domestic service as shown on the plans complete in place. Contractor will provide all coordination and equipment necessary to purge, pressure test and sterilize the new facility. This work per linear foot, complete in place, will include the legal disposal of surplus materials offsite. Pavement Removal and Replacement will be paid for under other bid items.
