Hi John,
Thanks for getting back with me regarding the draft planting submittal we sent to you last week for Old Town
Coppell.
The goal for sending you this draft, prior to the upcoming 90% submittal, is to confirm:
(1) the revised plant list on Sheet LP-13
(2) specific selections and locations of all shade, multi-trunk, and evergreen trees
(3) locations of groundcover vs. small shrubs vs. medium shrubs.
My understanding from your voicemail today is that you approve of items (1), (2), and (3) as shown on the 75%
plans.
The upcoming 90% submittal will show the specific selections of shrubs within the ‘small’ vs. ‘medium’ locations
shown on the 75% plans. (There are 3 species of small shrubs and 3 species of medium shrubs per the plant list
on Sheet LP-13.)
Please confirm your review and approval of the above items and let me know of any other questions or
concerns.

Keith and John,
Attached is a draft review set of planting plans for Old Town Coppell. The plans are based on input received in
our recent meetings with you, other City of Coppell staff and the developer. We would like to get your
comments on these draft plans as soon as possible so that we can incorporate them in our 90% submittal on
April 12.
Key changes in the planting plans since our last submittal include:
Use of Savannah Holly as the small tree in all sidewalk tree wells along storefronts
Use of Live Oak as predominant tree in parking islands
Use of Green Liriope for groundcover in all locations
Use of a single meandering line of Little Gem Magnolia in the entry median
Use of very low shrubs/ornamental grasses in the vicinity of intersections and crosswalks for vehicular
and pedestrian safety
Coordination with Parks Department for other plant preferences
Elimination of sidewalk decorative paving bands
The upcoming 90% submittal will provide technical specifications and detailed design of the back-of-curb root
barrier system.
