SS9301-CS 930303March 3, 1993 Mr. Wayne Ginn Ginn Corporation 17103 Preston Road Suite 205 Dallas, TX 75248 RE: Grapevine Sewer Trunk Branches I & II Dear Mr. Ginn: I have been speaking with Mr. Steve Parson concerning the acquisition of an easement across property that he is a part owner of. He has conveyed to me that he has several partners in this property and that the utility easement and the temporary construction easement should be revised to accurately reflect the owners of the property. The document itself should have places for three signatures and also the exhibit should be changed to reflect the three owners. I am providing the owners in the list order of their percentage of ownership of the property: 1) Troth Enterprises, Inc., Vol. 88165, pgs. 843-848 (42.5% ownership) 2) S.C. Parson, Inc., Vol. 88165, pgs. 837-842 (37.5% ownership) 3) Lerman Investments, Inc., Vol. 88203, page 1005 (20% ownership) Once these documents have been revised, please provide sufficient copies to the city so that we can continue to pursue acquisition of this easement. If you should have any questions, I will be happy to answer them. Sincerely, Kenneth M. Griffin P.E. Griffin, P.E., City Engineer ~ From: RE: Invoice From Ginn, Inc. for Grapevine Creek Date: February 12, 1993 As an informational item, you are correct in stating that a contract was awarded to Ginn, Inc. in March, 1991, in a total amount of $347,300.00. However, that contract was based on a percentage of the estimated cost of the project. Since that time, the estimated cost of this project has substantially escalated from the original estimated cost of $1.77 million. The project actually was awarded in the amount of $2.8 million. Each time this project was discussed with City Council, it was noted that the engineering design cost would escalate as the price of the project escalated. Based on the amount bid on this project, the estimated total compensation to Ginn will be in the neighborhood of $411,000. If you have any questions, I would be happy to discuss this with you. cc: Frank Trando, Finance Director/Deputy City Manager
