Additional Information: The abrasive blast to the walls was completed today. Wall area includes 4 feet up
onto roof, all of vertical walls and cone walls down to the stiffener beam. The cone wall vertical and horizontal welds still
have weld splatter around them and some spots have been corroded away on these welds. Also the butt welds on the
stiffeners at vertical wall/sloped wall intersection were only welded on one side and underside is very rough. The welds on
the stiffener beam also have pits corroded in them. The wall sheets themselves have very little pitting with most areas
having general corrosion and no pitting. Contractor will try to remove all the spent abrasive and dust from the walls today
and paint tomorrow. The dehumidi~er unit is on and working properly so blasted surfaces are not rusting.

Additional Information: Contractor spent all day 4-4-00 blowing down walls and upper cone to remove
blasting abrasive and dust. The dehumidifier has been on all along and wall surfaces are still acceptable for coating.
The engineer will be on site tomorrow moming to look at the pits in the welds seams of the stiffeners ring and other
areas.
The airless spray application &primer started at 9:15 a.m. with two (2) men spraying coating and two (2) men
stripe coating weld seams.

Additional Information: An inspection walk through was performed by the project engineer, Gary Hendricks,
City of Coppell representative, Glenn Holloway and myself of pitting corrosion areas in stiffeners ring welds and other weld
seams. It was decided that the deeper pits would be weld repaired and areas of lack of fusion would be filled in. I will mark
this areas needing repair today and contractor will repair those areas. Also the top section of the interior ladder needs
to be replaced due to ladders rings corroding away (photos I, 2 and 3). Photos 5, 6, 7, 8 and 11, show areas that will be weld
repaired. Contractor now has additional primer on site and will complete the prime coat application to wall today. Prior
to the start of finish coat application to previously primed areas.

Additional Information: The welder is on site patching the pits in the weld seams. The new ladder section
is on site and will be replaced tomorrow. The sand was removed from around the fill pipe to locate the area to be repaired.
(See photo) The dry film thickness readings taken today were on the wall surfaces. The low dry film thickness readings
were near the bottom and will be recoated when floor and lower wall are painted.
The weld pit repair started today and should be completed by tomorrow. Areas already weld repaired are being power
tool cleaned and then wiped off with thinner.
Note: Dehumidi~er is still operation and keeping dew point and humidity down on the interior surfaces.

Additional Information: A dry film thickness and visual inspection was performed to ceiling and rafter areas.
Some visual holidays were found around roof hatch and the weld at ceiling/riser pipe intersection. Areas below the water
line were checked for proper millage (DFT's) and holidays by Positector 6000 gage and a Tinker Rasor wet sponge
holiday detector. Kodak Photoflow was added to sponge water to aid in pinhole detection. Area checked was from
stiffener ring on cone wall on up to the vertical walls. Most areas had no holidays but a few were found on the welds at
cone wall/vertical wall stiffener and also a few on the top weld of the conb wall stiffener. All areas found were circled
with chalk and will be touched up today. After touch up painting was complete contractor will start removing sand from
the tank.
Note: Dehumidi~er was turned off over the weekend but has been turned back on now.

Additional Information: 04-19-00 The bulk of the sand has been removed from the interior of the tank.
Contractor now wants to know which areas have to have additional blast cleaning performed. These areas were pointed
out to them and some of the areas were marked with chalk. The area by the interior ladder will be reblasted because rain
fell in the tank. All blasting will be completed today.
4-20-00 Interior blasted surfaces are now cleaned to SSPC-SP i0 and are acceptable for coating. The bulk of the sand
has been removed and now contractor is sweeping down the walls and floor and removing the dust. Airless spray
application of prime coat will be started after all dust is removed. Weld seams will be stripe coated today and again during
finish coat application.

Additional Information: A dry film thickness, visual and holiday detector test was performed to wall
surfaces from the stiffener ring down to the floor today. DFT readings are acceptable and are listed on page 2 of 2.
The holiday detector test was performed with a Tinker-Rasor wet sponge holiday detector. Water wetter was added to
the sponge water to aid in pinhole detection. The holidays found were all small and were either on a weld or on the
interior ladder. Areas found with holiday detector were circled with chalk and then touched up with Carboguard 561 after
inspection was over. The areas noted in previous report as needing touch up coating (17403-0) have been repaired. The
only items remaining to be completed are:
1 .) Installing safety climb device on interior ladder.
2.) Replace screen wire in center vent (tom).
3 .) Mount roof hatch cover.
4.) Disinfect and seal tank.
