Gentlemen:
We have received a verbal report from the City's testing laboratory, StanTech Engineering in regards to the
cement-stabilized soil placed as backfill under Sandy Lake Road between stations 101+80 and 105+87.25. As
outlined in our letter to you dated May 19, 1999, this material was required to be tested and approved if it was
to remain in place. Based on results from field sampling and laboratory tests, the material placed is
considered to be equal to the specified backfill and can remain in place.
On behalf of the City, you are hereby directed to proceed immediately with the pavement repair at this
location. The City would like you to complete this repair by the middle of next week. At your discretion, you
are allowed to substitute full depth hot mix asphalt (8-inches thick) in lieu of the pavement repair specified in
the construction plans.
