ST8504-CS 851021GINN, INC. CONSULTING ENGINEERS October 21, 1985 Ms. Janet Vick Nathan D. Maier Consulting Engineers Three Northpark 8800 N. Central Expressway, %300 Dallas, Texas 75231 Re: Riverchase Drive Improvements (Final Plat) Coppell, Texas Dear Ms. Vick: We have reviewed this submittal for conformance to City of Coppell Subdivision Ordinance and Zoning Ordinance and the following sets forth our comments. Prior to placing this on the November 21, 1985 P & Z Agenda for final plat approval, please address the following items: Riverchase Drive is considered a minor arterial thoroughfare since it interconnects with major arterials on both ends, Sandy Lake Road on the north terminus and MacArthur Boulevard at the southern terminus. The design speed for a minor arterial is 35 - 45 MPH. The minimum centerline radius for this design speed would be 600'. Presently the radius is designed as 510'. The City will have to regulate the speed limit to 30 - 35 MPH, but since this is a minor arterial, people will tend to exceed that limit; therefore, consideration should be given to increasing the radius to 600 feet minimum. Please address. Please provide us with a current set of plans for review. A. Have engineer's seal on plans. B. Provide a vicinity map. C. Indicate box culvert alignment and details, west of MacArthur Boulevard to coincide with recently submitted box culvert details. D. Indicate which drainage criteria are used. E. Recommended maximum velocities of 12.5 f.p.s, has been exceeded in some of the storm sewers. F. Indicate headwall details. G. Indicate box culvert design and bedding details. H. Include your standard detail sheets. If you have any questions, please contact us.
