Dear Mr. Peiffer:
A review has been made of your April 25 letter regarding the proposed
relocation of the 16-inch high pressure gas transmission pipeline, to
acco~odate the subject project for the City of Coppe11.
Relocation of the gas line on the east side of Noore Road, south of
Sandy Lake, was completed in 1963, prior to Federal Code. Relocation of
the gas line west of Noore Road was completed in 1980 ~d only affected
Christi Lane. At the time that all relocations were co~leted, a minimum
of 30 inches of soil cover re~ained over the line. This~ount of cover was
in compliance with the appropriate Class I location, and this classifi-
cation existed for some ti~e after the Federal Code ca~e into effect. The
streets that were subsequently installed across the gas llne were
installed without the knowledge or approval of Lone Star Gas Company.
In view of the above, please provide the previously requested
authorization for reimbursement of cost, up to but not to exceed $38,208.00
as well as one approved copy of the relocation drawing to this office. When
these two items are received, scheduling of the work can be completed.
