Difficient items to be resolved for the acceptance of MacArthur
Blvd. from Coppell/Irving city limits to the MacArthur Blvd.

Dear Mr. Harrell:
As per your request for a letter explaining what it will take to
sell this project to the City, please find the following list of
difficient items needing to be resolved.
On June 23, 1988, Public Works, Water Utilities, Streets and Parks
departments performed a verification of punch list items submitted
to Nathan Maier on September 24, 1987, to be completed for final
acceptance.
The following are the remaining items that as of this date have
not been accomplished.
Water Utilities Department
2) Jet rod and vacuum sewer main free of mud and standing water.
4) 25 + 34.50 - Manhole ring needs to be reset and manhole cleaned
out.
6) 20 + 00 24" Valve needs extension
8) 25 + 00 24" Valve covered up.
11) 6 + 50 Line "A" not able to locate manhole.
Fire Department
Ail 4 punch list items have been satisfactorily addressed.
Sign/Signals Department
4)
Due to poor application of railroad symbols and stop bar, they
have worn off.
The signal pole that was destroyed by a truck has been bandied
by the truck's insurance and will be installed in July. This item
should not hold up acceptance.
The other 3 items have been satisfactorily addressed.
Street Department
3)
Many of the curbs have chips missing.

Ail should be repaired
The patches are not holding and will need to be redone.
The other 5 items have been satisfactorily addressed.
Parks Department
The landscaping in the 2 medians, south of Beltline/MacArthur
intersection to the city limit line at the bridge still has
not been resolved.
Additional Items (Walk-thru 6/23/88)
1) Sidewalk cracked in 7 locations.
2) 4' random crack east side under 2nd power line.
3) Mud ball holes south of Riverchase.
4) Spalling 2nd panel south of 2nd entrance from the north end.
5) Pave stones missing around sanitary sewer manhole southwest
corner, 1st entrance.

1. At station # 29+50 manhole lid stuck, also need to ~emove slag concrete
from lid.

24" mainline valve covered up at station I~25+00.
~. 8" valve stack full of mud, unable to get on station tt27+81.50.
Manhole lid stuck, need to remove concrete off top of lid - station ~t9+96.48

Not ab].e to locate manhole at station ~6.50 Line "A".
FIRE DEPAR?MENT
l. Ali. Fire Hydran'ts need street markers (paint & oil).
Fire Hydrant under power line on the East side needs to be raised.
3. First (lst) Fire Hydrant North of Beltline needs the top valve changed out.
4. Four (4) Fire Hydrants South of Beltline has 4" steamers and needs 4½".
No cut-off valve is on the East side and both on West side. Second (2nd)
on West side needs to be raised.

SIGNS/SIGNALS DEPARTMENT
1. Add white buttons on South bound lane near R x R tracks.

have slipped on epoxy (out of place) and three (3) bars are broken.
First jiggle bar North bound out of Belttine intersection has been applied
backwards.
Very poor applications of R x R symbols, stop bars on both sides of Inter-
section and also on entire project. Gloss beads were applied poorly to
paint.
According to M.U.T.C.D., the crosshatching stripes should be 2" wide. Ail
stripes are currently 4".
STREET DEPARTMENT

PARKS DEPARTMENT
1. Irrigation system south of Beltline was damaged/removed during construction.
This must be reconstructed to meet new median area existing now.
2. Electrical conduit and cable disturbed that services bridge lights. Bridge
lights were operating prior to construction, are no longer.
3. Power Pole southwest corner - Terra still needs to raise riser to meet
specifications of T.P. & L. for pedestal existing on this pole.
City Irrigation system existing north of Riverchase property damaged during
gas line excavations is not properly repaired as. it existed prior to that
taking place.
Contact Con~nunity Management Association/Valley Ranch for landscaping plans
and irrigation plans. Alan Johnston oversees the maintenance. 484-9992
is his number.
6. Several stumps were observed in the median.
