Dear Steve:
The District has recently entered into a contract with Goodbrand
Construction Co. for certain improvements along the south bound-
ary of the District. These improvements include the installa-
tion of a double 36 inch storm sewer line and the extension of
the existing fill southward over TRA and Lone Star Gas Co.
pipelines. The TRA has required the construction of an "induced
trench" over their line to protect it from potential damage
caused by pressure.
These improvements have no effect on flooding from the river.
They are entirely located on private property and will be perpet-
ually maintained by the District. For these reasons, we do not
feel that the City has any responsibility to oversee construc-
tion. We are, however, happy to receive any input you may have
in regard to these activities and certainly want to provide you
with the ability to review our plans and specs as well as our
construction procedures at any time.
Nathan Maier's office will be providing you with a full set of
