Dear Mr. Cash:
As you know, the intersection of Beltline Road and MacArthur
Boulevard at the north entrance to the Valley Ranch is currently
being improved. This construction is somewhat intricate and
must be completed in phases to allow for safe traffic flow.
The first phase, currently underway, entails the construction of
the westbound lanes of Beltline and the raising of the northbound
lanes of MacArthur from Beltline southward. The next phase will
be to lay a temporary asphalt section to connect northbound
MacArthur to Beltline. During this next phase, it is the opinion
of our Police Chief that the intersection should be closed.
In order to minimize the inconvenience of the closure, we ask for
the City of Irving's assistance. If you could see that signage
is installed at strategic locations, such as the South entrance
to the Valley Ranch on MacArthur at LBJ, notifying motorists of
the situation, the effect of the closure should be minimal. It
may also be beneficial to request notification by the Irving
newspapers.
It is thought that this operation will last about three (3) days.
Our target date to begin is Friday, December 12. Of course, both
the start date and the construction time are subject to change,
depending on weather and other factors. As time passes we will
have a better feel for the contractor's ability to meet this
schedule and we will keep you informed as the date approaches.
We want to thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.
With your cooperation this work should progress smoothly and this
vital intersection will be well on its way toward final comple
