S'taM Road / Freeport Parkway

Dear Shohre:
I have just received a copy of the punch list for State Road. The list contains the removal of several traffic
warning signs from the transition of the improved roadway to the existing section.
As always, I object to the procedure of changing improvements after an exhaustive City review, approval,
and the construction of those improvements.
I particularly object to the removal of these signs. This transition seems to me to hold a great potential
for future accidents. A southbound driver must transition from a straight, smooth section of concrete
paving to an undersized, deteriorated asphalt section that is offset in alignment.
We have done the best job we could to create as safe a transition as possible, given the physical
constraints. In my view, actions required by the City to make the transition less well marked are ill
advised. Please reconsider.
Sincerely,
NATHAN D. MAIER
