ST8402-CS 890214 (2)February 14, 1989 Mr. Russell Doyle City Engineer P.O. Box 478 Coppell, TX 75019 Dear Mr. Doyle: I am glad to see the construction of Denton Tap progress. One of the unfortunate by-products of this construction is the destruction of existing properties. Your staff has recommended that I contact you since you represent the city in dealing with the contractor(s). The particular instance I am talking about is on the southwest corner of the Denton Tap and Bethel School intersection. At that corner the developer of Shadowridge Estates built a brick planter several years ago. The residents of the area have worked with the developer to ensure that planter was properly landscaped and maintained. This took a lbt of effort, but did pay off as the developer has maintained the landscaping and even added an sprinkler system. As the construction of Denton Tap has proceeded, I've noticed that the construction crews dumped a large amount of dirt on this particular planting, probably killing all the shrubs (Nana Nandinas and Crepe Myrtles). They also removed one of the valve boxes for the sprinkler system. I would assume that the contractor(s) plans to cleanup the dirt, replant the the planter with high quality plants, and verify that the sprinkler system works. As a representative of the City of Coppell, I ask you to ensure that these action items are in the plan for the project and they are actually completed. Please let me know if the contractor(s) are taking care of this. Thank you. 233 Southern Belle Coppell, TX 75019
