Hi George,
I believe I understand your question. The only think I can think of in the Standards is Section 4.3.4:
"4.3.4 Passing Space. If an accessible route has less than 60 in (1525 mm) clear width, then passing spaces at
least 60 in by 60 in (1525 mm by 1525 mm) shall be located at reasonable intervals not to exceed 200 ft (61
m). A T-intersection of two corridors or walks is an acceptable passing place."
So, in this case, if either of the sidewalks are 4 foot wide sidewalks, or sidewalks less than 5 feet wide, then
there must be T-intersections or 60" by 60" passing spaces (bump outs) not more than 200 feet apart.
Hope this answers your question.

Subject: Crosswalk
Blair,
I have a strange question. A street in town is being reconstructed and we are adding sidewalk on both sides of
the road. This road is over 3,000 feet and has over 8 T intersections. Typically I have not included a curb ramp
on the top of the T but in this case it has raised a question. Is there a rule in TAS or ADA that tells me a
distance or spacing of crosswalks? Any help on this situation is helpful.
