We have received positive feedback from the public regarding the storm water education. Municipal employees are more cognizant of pollution prevention practices and have altered some of their procedures in order to comply with the permit. Contractors working in the City of Coppell are also cognizant of pollution prevention practices. We have not received complaints regarding illegal dumping or discharges into the creek. We have received phone calls from residents asking questions regarding storm water tips and ideas in the water bill inserts. We will be working with neighboring cities and Texas Stream team to begin sampling and monitoring creeks. TCEQ -20561 Page 5 of 21 4. Provide a general evaluation of the program's progress, including any obstacles or challenges encountered in implementing BMPs, meeting the program's schedule, etc.: The progress is continuing to prow and become easier. We are continuing to implement environmental management systems at our city facilities which has really helped with complying with MCM #6. Many city employees are now aware of best management practices and storm water pollution prevention. Educating the public and providing enough information to them has increased their knowledge and awareness for pollution prevention. 5. Provide the number of construction activities (other than those where the permittee was the operator) that occurred within the regulated area as indicated via notices of intent or site notices: There were 8 construction activities that required an NOI or construction site notice. 6. Does the permittee utilize the 7 th MCM related to construction? Yes X No If Yes, then provide the following information: a. Water wise tour of one Coppell municipal site, Included 1,500 column inches in articles in the Dallas Morning News, Citizen's Advocate, and the Coppell Gazette for information pertaining to public education and outreach. C.) We are currently completing our illicit discharge ordinance and there are additional items that will be included as prohibited discharges other than those already listed in the general permit. The list will be included in year 5 annual report. 8. Describe any proposed changes to the SWMP in the coming reporting year.
