ST1002-EM100518 City of Coppell, Texas CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PROJECT REQUEST PROJECT TITLE: Old Town Coppell TYPE: New X Expansion Replacement (known as the Carter-Crowley property - south of Bethel Road and west of S. Coppell Road) PROJECT DESCRIPTION (size, location, type of facility) This project consists of constructing a main road coming into the site from Bethel Road, a ring road around the future Farmers Market site, two parallel roads to Bethel Road between S. Coppell Road and Hammond Street, on-street parking, water lines, sewer lines, drainage pipes and a new traffic signal at the Bethel Road and Coppell Road / Main Street intersection. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION Criteria Explanation The construction will provide much needed parking in the downtown area and it will spur development of the property. After completion of this project, a permanent home for the Farmers Market will be constructed. Consequences/Options Without the project, the land will remain undeveloped and lack of available parking in the downtown area will continue.
