RE: DEFOREST ROAD — PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE
(Project # ST 05 -01, MacArthur Blvd. to Windsor Estates)
Dear Owner or Resident:
The engineering design plans for Deforest Road Reconstruction are complete and the City of Coppell
City Council has awarded the construction project to Tiseo Paving Company. Tiseo Paving Co. will
start construction in January 2012 and plan to complete the project around November 2012.
To create a safe work zone, Deforest Road, from MacArthur Blvd. to Allen Road, will be one -way in the
eastbound direction during construction. The direction of traffic was chosen to allow emergency
vehicles swift access to adjacent properties. The contractor will be responsible for erecting all signage
and traffic control during the course of the project. Because Deforest will be one -way, Allen Road and
Lake Forest Drive will be the only exit points for most of the citizens in this area. In an effort to maintain
safe movement of vehicles on these streets, the City of Coppell will install temporary speed cushions along
these two routes. Please see the attached exhibit for general locations of the speed cushions and the area of
Deforest Road that will be temporarily designated as one -way traffic only. The segment of Deforest Road
between Allen Road and Windsor Estates will remain two -way traffic, but during a portion of construction
it will be reduced to one -lane with a temporary traffic signal installed to control traffic movement.
In an effort to introduce the contractor and engineering team to the residents of this area, we will host a
public meeting on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the atrium of Town Center, 255 Parkway
Boulevard. Final engineering plans will be available for display and the Engineering Staff will be available
to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. If you are unable to attend the meeting and would like
to discuss the project, please contact me directly.
