ST8402-CS 890523On May 23, 1989, The City Council heard this request (see attached agenda packet) and tabled the item for further staff review and directed for consideration the liability issue should be addressed. Kevin Peiffer covered items inhis May 24, 1989 Memo, verbally at this council meeting. Staff met with applicant without Ginn, Inc, June 2, 1989-2:00 pm. Discussed issues- monitoring Closing Criteria, keep separate from current current Denton Tap Project, liability, signing, signals. Steve Hundley was to furnish 1. Picture of examples 2. Submit Criteria for closing Staff was to: Seek Ginn's opinion on having 'another Engineer Design the median opening and Ginn, Inc. include it in the current Denton Tap Project. By memo dated June 8, 1989 Doyle requested a response from Ginn, Inc. on Item #1 directly above and other issues raised by Steve Hundley. Giun, Inc. answered bY letter dated June 23, 1989. June 14, 1989'-- Pictures received from Steve Hundle¥, June 20, 1989 meeting set up. June 20, 1989 2:00 p.m.--Staff met with applicant (with Gtnn, Inc.) Resolved To: 1. Hundley furnish traffic engineering analysis on median opening and multiple drives in vicinity. (Newly approved drive for Kentucky Fried Chicken was not in original traffic anaylsis.) 2. Ginn, Inc would respond to option of another Design Engineer, Etc. (Attached is Ginn, Inc. June 23, 1989 response furnished to' Steve Hundley by courier the week of June 26, 1989.) June 30, 1989-- Staff received word Steve Hundley's sulxaittal Wo~ld be delivered Honday, July 3, 1989. Hundley's letter dated June 30, 1989, was received July 3, 1989. July 6, 1989 -- Meeting held with Steve Hundley, his Traffic Engineer, Roy L. Wilshire and staff members Alan Ratliff, Wayne Ginn, and Russell Doyle. Roy Wilshire assures the median opening is a sound design with the current conditions (i.e. Kentucky Fried Chicken New Drive, etc.) therefore traffic liability is not an issue any ~ore. The applicant will represent his request. Wayne Ginn, can present and/or respond to the History of Design for median openings', etc.
