Allen Rd.
Dear Mr. Marshall,
I received your letter about the Deforest construction. I wanted to tell you I welcome, and am so happy
about the speed cushions for Allen Rd. (although not so happy for the extra traffic!). We have lived on
Allen Rd. for 9 yrs, and have small children. I get so frustrated with all the speeding that goes on on our
street! People have been clocked going 50mph!!!! This is especially concerning when kids are outside
playing!
I hope the speed cushions are not an eye soar? What will they look like? I have wished for them for
years to slow people down, am thankful you are putting them in...construction or not!
Sincerely,
Kelli Silman

Subject: Speed cushions on Allen and Deforest Rds
To Whom it may concern:
Please entertain the possibility of installing speed cushions not just on and around DeForest and
Allen Roads but on all roads around Lakeside Elementary School. The traffic has become quite a
problem; speeds of traffic are up even during times when and parents are transiting school. Even
the residential roads like Redwood Drive and Laguna Drive are becoming issues with traffic not
stopping at stop signs and speeding through these streets as short cuts around larger roads. With
the increase in new homes in the area, traffic is becoming more of a problem with the increase of
cars on the small residential roads.
There are speed cushions on roads around other schools in the town, I know Mockingbird Elem.
does. I know it helps keep speeds with the posted and necessary limits; I experience much traffic
while walking the roads around town.
This problem should be addressed now rather than later, before a small child has been hurt or
killed because of drivers who are ignorant of the laws and rules of the road.
Sincerely,
Home owner in this area,
Jeff Trondsen
