RE: Creekview Drive & Freeport Parkway
ST 00 -01
January 31, 2002 Site Meeting
The biweekly site meeting was held on the above referenced project. Below is a summary of the
items discussed:
1. Those in attendance were:
• Larry Davis - City of Coppell
• Chris Schnitger - Schrickel Rollins & Associates
• Philip Bennett - ISI
• Dennis Hammock - ISI
• Billy Wisenhunt - ISI
• Robert Butler - Butler Electric
2. Overall project schedule:
• ISI said no changes were necessary to the previously submitted schedule.
• They are within two or three days of the previous schedule.
3. On -going construction:
• Contractor is continuing the installation of the storm drain and junction boxes.
• ISI expects to have storm drain completed by the end of Week 13 (Feb. 4 -8).
• This will allow for the electrician to install conduit across Creekview Drive.
4. Right -of -way and slope distances:
• ISI needs to contact TXU about grading - it is apparent that the grading will expose
some of the cover on the existing overhead power pole and guy wires located at Lots
3R/4R Freeport North Addition at the west end of Creekview Drive.
• Larry Davis reminded SRA that ISI had questions about providing sloping outside of
right -of -way along the south side of Creekview Drive. ISI has not provided letter
requesting a change in the slope distances and grades as shown on the plans.
5. Wagon Wheel Park Phase III - Tennis Center:
• SRA provided preliminary plans to Parks & Leisure Services for review.
"CITY OF COPPELL ENGINEERING - EXCELLENCE BY DESIGN"
• These plans include the sidewalk and grading along the north side of Creekview Drive
that will be included in the construction of this project.
• Larry Davis talked to Glen Hollowell about the DC valve and 8 -inch water line in
Wagon Wheel Park Phase III.
• The portion of 8 -inch water line within WWP Phase III will be deleted from this
contract with Change Order #2.
• Glen Hollowell has informed Brad Reid that the DC valve and 8 -inch water line can
be constructed with water funds, if necessary, during the WWP Phase III construction.
6. East side of State Road from Ruby Road north to end of project:
• Contractor intends to pave a portion of this area next week (Week 13).
• ISI indicated that a portion of the newly installed steel and cable fence is in conflict
with the proposed radius on the north side of the Ruby Road/State Road
intersection.
• The contractor will have to relocate ±40 feet of fencing.
7. South side of Ruby Road/Freeport Parkway intersection:
• Field conflict with TXU overhead power pole and underground conduit - must be
relocated.
• SRA will contact TXU and provide information necessary to relocate.
8. Ruby Road
• Contractor asked about the possible closure of Ruby Road.
• Larry Davis informed contractor that it was too late to request the closure and meet
the proposed construction time frame of Freeport Parkway.
9. The gabion walls are complete.
10. Safety rail:
• Shop drawings for the safety rail have been submitted to SRA for review.
• ISI said that once the shop drawings have been approved it would take six weeks for
fabrication.
11. Six -inch blow -off valves:
• Larry Davis had a conversation with Glen Hollowell and Ted Dutt on January 30,
expressing his concerns with a detail in the plans related to the discharge point of
three 6 -inch blow -off valves.
• It was decided that the 6 -inch blow -off valves were not needed.
• Larry Davis indicated to SRA that a blind flange be placed at the top of each tee that
was provided at the 12" x 6" reducer.
12. SRA and ISI need to finalize Change Order #2.
