Box 478 Coppell, TX 75019 Re: Southwestern Drive Paving, Drainage, Water, Sewer & Bridge Improvements Coppell, TX Dear Ms. Daneshmand: The City of Coppell's Engineering, Public Works, Streets, Utilities, Parks, and Construction Inspection departments have completed their review of the above referenced plans that were submitted on December 3, 1990. The following sets forth our comments. 1. The approval of the plans is subject to the work being started within 12 months of the City Engineer's .final approval. 2. Include "final plat" in set of plans for reference. 3. Please provide~ landscape/irrigation plans for review. 4. Please indicate whether utility companies have reviewed/verified plans for their required easements, relocation work, etc. 5. Pavinq Sheet P-1 A. Modify existing median in Freeport Parkway. B. At SE corner of Southwestern Blvd./Freeport Pkwy. show existing signs, fire hydrant and valves to be relocated and/or adjusted. C. Indicate directional "arrows" and "words" on plans at intersection. D. Provide traffic pull boxes and conduits as required. E. Indicate proposed sidewalks, if applicable. 6. Pavinq Sheet P-2 A. Please identify what happens to existing utilities' in the Southwestern Annex area. Also, will the R.O.W. remain or be abandoned? B. ALl paving sheets - please indicate sidewalk along Southwestern Blvd. per City standards. 8. Provide details of proposed barricade for Executive Drive. 9. Please address the "salvaging" of the 24" waterline. Who will remove it? Will the removed line be reused? What will become of the salvaged line? 10. Please indicate subgrade construction for drives on detail sheet P-9. 11. Please indicate type of erosion control proposed for drainage ditch in vicinity of Southwestern Annex. 12. At Southwestern Drive and channel (Sheet STM-1), what type of erosion control upstream and downstream of the headwall is proposed? 13. On Sheet STM-2, existing 12" waterline may be required to be lowered. Please address. Indicate 100-yr water surface on Line "E" profile. 14. All driveway culverts that are to be replaced shall be a minimum of 15" diameter RCP. 15. Where sanitary sewer lines cross under proposed storm sewer, provide minimum 2'-6" clearance or concrete encase sewer line, 10' either side of storm drainage line. 16. Where proposed 9'x6' RBC ties into existing 12'x6' RBC, please provide details or show junction box. 17. At Executive Drive and Southwestern Blvd., consider a junction box at Sta. 6+19.74. 18. Please provide Sht. S-13, S-14, indicating details for storm sewer Line "I". lQ. Provide "sleeves" or install waterlines to medians for irrigation system. 20. On 16" waterline, where it crosses channel, concrete encase line from upper 45° bends on each side of Culverts. Provide minimum 2'-6" clearance from bottom of boxes to top of waterline. 21. No "open cut" of Southwestern Annex for installation of proposed sanitary sewer line. No curves in sanitary sewer lines. 22. On all water sheets, identify which type "valves" to be provided. 23. On existing fire hydrants that are to be removed and delivered to City, also remove valve and plug tee. 24. On replacements of residential/business water services, use Type K soft copper. 25. From Coppell Road, east, in lieu of 12" waterline, an eight inch line may be installed. 26. See special note on Sheet WS-4 regarding valves, vaults, overhead crossing etc. Add additional valves as shown. 27. Please clarify questions posed on Sheet WS-6 regarding salvaged valves, encasement pipe near intersection, etc. 28. General notes regarding sanitary sewer lines: On manholes deeper than 12', diameter shall be 5' minimum~~ Sanitary sewer must be separated from water by 9' minimum or use ductile iron, concrete encased, with 2' minimum separation. When sanitary sewer lines c~oss over waterline, concrete encase sanitary sewer line 10' either side of waterline. Sanitary sewer lines to be SDR 35.
