Speed Limit Signs/Stop Signs
In response to recent conversations and the attached memo
regarding speed limit signs along Bethel School Road by yourself,
Steve Morton, Richard Diane, Dana Kemp, and others, we offer the
following:
Construction speed limit signs (black with orange background) are
"advisory signs" only and not enforceable by law. In order to
enforce the speed limit signs, it has to be provided for by
ordinance set by City Council. You may want to check with the
City Attorney for his opinion.
If you want the contractor to place the "advisory" 20 or 25 mph
speed limit sign within the construction zone along with
construction "STOP" signs at Rolling Hills, please advise us and
we will contact the contractor.
