Re:
Denton Tap Road Improvements
from Sandy Lake Road to Denton Creek
Coppell, TX
Dear Mr. McAvoy:
We have reviewed your letter of September 20, 1988 regarding the
requirement that 2000 psi concrete be placed between the barrels
of the 2-8'x4' and 2-7'x4' Precast Reinforced Concrete Box
Culverts for storm sewer line "D". It is the intent of our plans
and specifications, as stated in our letter of September 9, 1988,
that the 2000 psi concrete placed between the barrels of the box
culverts for their entire length. We do not disagree with your
interpretation of the state specifications, but we must point out
that Items 401 and 462 have been specifically modified in the
Special Provisions, Section 07500 of the Contract, to suit the
intent of the design mentioned above. Therefore there is no need
for any unit pricing for the backfill materials whether between
the barrels or not. You will find the Special Provision to Item
401 - EXCAVATION AND BACKFILL FOR SEWERS on page 22 of Section
07500, and the Special Provision to Item 462 - CONCRETE BOX
CULVERTS on page 30 of Section 07500.
We appreciate your cooperation and your professional approach to
the work of this project. Please call me if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Project Engineer
