Dear Mike:
Thank you for your letter of September 6, 1988 regarding the
status of your review of the two median breaks we have proposed
in Denton Tap Road between Parkway Boulevard and Mills Lane in
Coppell. Your letter indicates that the efforts of a review
committee appointed by the City Council to study long term plans
for the Town Center may require adjustment of some of the
proposed median locations. You also indicate that
recommendations of this committee should be available within 30
days.
For the benefit of those parties receiving copies of this letter,
the table below lists the locations of the median openings we
proposed between Parkway Boulevard and Mills Lane. Stationing is
along the centerline of Denton Tap Road.

Mr.'John Karlsruher of Ginn, Inc. is the Project Manager on the
Denton Tap Road Improvement Project. Since these roadway
improvements are currently under construction, I asked Mr.
Karlsruher to estimate by what date will he need to know the
propbsed median opening locations in order that they may be
incorporated into the plans and not impact the contractor's
const=uction schedule. Mr. Karlsuher said that the contractor
was eriginally planning to start paving improvements by the start
of Obtober, 1988, however, it now appears that start of paving
operations will occur somewhat later. He went on to say that, at
thi~ time, he felt that if Ginn was provided the agreed median
opening locations by the second week in October, as well as the

City authorization to proceed with including the median openings
in the plans, then he felt that a change order could be prepared
and delivered to the contractor without delaying the construction
schedule.
Mr. Karlsruher also stated that if the City authorization to
proceed and the agreed median opening locations were provided to
Ginn after the second week in October, then adjustments in the
contractors work schedule may be required in order to include
construction of the median openings in the project.
Prior to providing the median opening locations to Ginn, ABQ and
Univest must agree on the locations and discuss the project with
the City and obtain City authorization. Therefore, please let me
know as soon as possible if the median opening locations we have
proposed are acceptable. From my conversations with Mr.
Karlsruher, it seems that 30 days from the date of your letter,
or October 6, 1988, is the latest date for us to reach an
agreement on the location of the median openings and request that
the City include them in the Denton Tap Road project.
ABQ Development Corporation will request that the City also
include an additional median opening north of Parkway Boulevard.
ABQ will also request left turn lanes for access to ABQ property
with all requested median openings.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
