Box 478 Coppell, Texas 75019 Re: Denton Tap Road Improvements from Belt Line Road to Sandy Lake Road - June 19 Traffic Control Plan Change Dear Mr. Doyle: This letter is a follow-up to our telephone conversation of this morning concerning the proposed opening of the Van Bebber/Denton Tap Rd. intersection and the subsequent closure of east side of the Bethel School Rd/Denton Tap Rd. intersection. As discussed this morning this is in conformance with the plan developed in our meeting of March 2, 1989. _The notice you receive~/ your information and does not require you to take any action. ~ctor was instructed to notify police and fire same manner. I have received confirmation of notification from Lt. Leonard. I can understand your irritation over the short notice you have been given on this issue, but I assure you that the notice in this case was given as far in advance as practicable. With the poor weather of the last few weeks, ending on Wednesday, it has taken a couple of days in the field to assess the water damage to the project. Late yesterday, the Contractor was able to finalize his assessment of the situation and formulate his schedule and sequence for resuming the work of the project. We were promptly notified of his intentions and asked that he follow through on his notifications to yourself, police and fire department~. Everyone involved in the project has performed their duties as/ required in this matter. The Contract allows the Contractor to sequence and schedule his work to his best advantage in timely and cost-effective completion of his work, and therefore we cannot delay his change of the traffic control on the project in anticipation of a public advertisement of his intent. Let me reassure you that when the situation permits enough lead time prior to future traffic control plan changes we will urge the Contractor to provide you with press releases in time for publication in the newspaper. 17103 Preston Road · Suite 100 · LB 118 · Dallas, Texas 75248 · Phone 214/248-4900 Please call me if you have any questions.
