Paving Sequence Dear Mr. Doyle: On Wednesday, June 7, 1989, I received a call from you and the city Manager requesting that I address Mr. Fikes' concerns about the paving sequence for the above mentioned project. I called Mr. Scott Balch, P.E., of L.H. Lacy Co. to inquire about their proposed sequence and schedule for completing the paving on this project. In his response he indicated that the paving would be completed in the following sequence: Complete the west side concrete pavement (southbound lanes) at the railroad crossing. Complete the west side concrete paving from Station 150+00 to McDonald's (including median openings and left turn lanes)· Complete paving on the Sandy Lake Road to Denton Creek project (except for the area in which Dallas Water Utilities will be lowering their 30" Flowermound waterline). Complete paving of the east side of the Belt Line Road to Sandy Lake Road project from Station 149+00 to the south end of the project. Mr. Balch said that excluding weather delays they would be paving the last area (including the frontage belonging to Mr. Fikes) in about 3 weeks. I called Mr. and Mrs. Fikes immediately and discussed the above sequence with them. I explained to them that their property fronts on one of the last segments of the project to be paved. The reason for this is simply that the west side pavement and railroad crossing must be completely installed and in service before the existing roadway can be abandoned and removed for construction of the earthwork and lime treated subgrade for the east side of the road in front of their property prior to paving in that area. In the meantime the Contractor can best finish the whole project soon by accomplishing the rest of the work as described above. 17103 Preston Road · Suite 100 · LB 118 · Dallas, Texas 75248 · Phone 214/248-4900 Please refer to the attached color codes sketches. you have questions.
