City E~ineer City O/ Coppell P.O. ~ox 478 Copp~ll, Texas 75019 Re: Denton Tap Road Improvements from Belt Line Road to Sandy Lake Road - Mr. Joe Bob Fikes Dear Mr. Doyle: As per our conversations of Monday, April 10, 1989, and the attached Rapid Letter, I spoke to Mr. Fikes on the telephone Tuesday afternoon, April 11, 1989. With regard to his disposition concerning the road construction 'adjacent to his property, he is unwilling to change his position with respect t° the temporary construction easement and matters in general, until he has had the opportunity to sit down and discuss these issu~ personall~ with the. City~. We suggest that it' may be in ~h~ city's best interest for the City Manager to meet with Mr. Fikes as soon as possible to attempt to resolve the temporary construction easement issue, since the Contractor needs to be working in the area in question very soon. If the Contractor is unable to begin work in this area within the next week or so, his progress on the project may be delayed. We will be happy to attend this meeting if requested. On Wednesday, April 12, 1989 I discussed the locatiDn and size of the proposed driveway to serve Mr. Fikes' and Mr. Thompson's properties with Peter Staks of Nathan D. Maier Consulting Engineers. We are in agreement that the driveway needs to be approximately 40 feet wide along Denton Tap Road and located north of the common property line. Nathan D. Maier Consulting Engineers will prepare a layout of the DroDosed new driveway and submit it to you for consideration for inclusion in the Denton Tap Road Improvements project. The proposed driveway layout will shift the current location of the proposed median opening to the north about 28 feet. This will require coordination with the development of the Baptist Foundation of Texas property located across Denton Tap Road from Mr. Fikes' and Mr. Thompson's properties. We are attempting to contact Mr. Craig Knight of Centre Development to get the coordination effort underway prior to completion of their plans for the Springs of ~Coppell project.
