Dear Mr. Snyder:
We have reviewed your letter of December 13, 1988 regarding your
proposed sequence of construction for this item. Our main
concern is that you coordinate the main line shut downs with the
Department of Public Works and the affected businesses and
property owners, and that the level of water stored in the
elevated storage tank be continuously monitored during shutdowns.
We also suggest that the new line be flushed, chlorinated and
tested prior to Step 4. This may serve to prevent a situation in
which the main line would be removed from service and something
unexpected happen to the untested, unchlorinated new line which
would prevent its immediate use. Please call me if you have any
questions.
