Dear Mr. Snyder:
We are transmitting herewith one copy of Change Order No. 1 for
each project which have been executed by the City Manager on
behalf of the City of Coppell. All subgrade stabilization, with
the exception of the bridge approach slabs shall be performed in
accordance with the terms of Change Order No. 1 and the John H.
Haynes and Associates, Inc. November 4, 1988 letter, copy
attached. As previously agreed L. H. Lacy Co. will modify the
subgrade materials in the vicinity of Station 91+00 with 7%
Cement at no additional cost beyond that for modification of the
materials with 5% Cement.
Since Ginn, Inc. has the responsibility for furnishing the
initial materials testing for the project, we hereby elect to use
the Modified Proctor Method (ASTM D-1557) with a minimum
requirement of 95% density for testing the compaction of the
treated subgrade materials.
Measurement for Portland Cement and Portland Cement Modification
of Subgrade Soils will be in accordance with the provisions for
Pay Items 260, 264, and 264.1 as applicable.
Payment for the Portland Cement Modification of Subgrade Soils
will be made in accordance with the Unit Prices included in
Change Order No. 1 and the existing Contract Pay Item Numbers and
estimated quantities for Lime Treatment (Items 264 and 264.1, as
applicable) and Lime Slurry (Item 260).
