Dear Mr. Doyle: We are enclosing six (6) copies of Change Order No. 3 to the subject Contract which have been recommended by Ginn, Inc. Consulting Engineers and approved by the Contractor, L.H. Lacy Co. This Change Order No. 3 changes the scope of work of the subject Contract by nullifying Change Order No. 1 (which replaced Lime with Cement for subgrade treatment) in its entirety and restoring the Original Contract Pay Item Descriptions and Unit Prices for Pay Item Nos. 260, 264, and 264.1. All work included in the scope of work of this Change Order No. 3 shall be performed in accordance with the terms of the Original Contract Drawings and Specifications. This Change Order No. 3 also includes the addition of 14 calendar days to the Contract as per the Contractor's request dated January 14, 1989, and our response of January 31, 1989, copies of which are attached to the Change Order. The Contractor voluntarily abandoned Cement Treatment of Subgrade on this project as a result of difficulties encountered in achieving specified compaction on the Denton Tap Road Improvements from Belt Line Road to Sandy Lake Road project. All subgrade treatment on this project to date has been performed under the Original Specifications for Lime Treatment, materials in place. The Contractor requests restoration of the Original Contract Unit Prices and Specifications pertaining to subgrade treatment. Since L. H.
