Box ~78 Coppell/TX 75019 City Engineer Re: August 26 Memo - Denton Tap Road Projects Dear Russell: The following information is submitted in response to your memo dated August 26, 1988. Enclosed are the R.O.W. maps prepared for the project. They show that the R.O.W. varies at different locations and that the future R.O.W. is 120 feet. We caution that these maps have not been updated since the beginning of the project. There have been minor changes. The shaded area reflects temporary construction or slope easements and the cross hatched area was obtained as permanent easements. Our staff has worked diligently with Joe Bob Fikes, explaining the need for slope easements and future R.O.W. dedications. We have not committed any figures relative to assessments because it is premature. We have not worked up any figures regarding assessments. iwere told incorrectly that when the Bond program was passed, essments would be $65.00 to $80.00 per foot. There has not n any council action for the Denton Tap project regarding essments. .~h~ meetings held on February 16 and December 17, 1987 with the d]acent landowners were for the review of the plans and for iscussion of median openings and drive approaches, etc. We did not discuss assessments at these meetings. We are currently working to secure the last three temporary construction easements. As soon as these are completed, we will forward the entire package of easements to the City for permanent records. We have filed, with the County, those that require filing. 17103 Preston Road ® Suite 100 · LB 118 · Dallas, Texas 75248 · Phone 214/248-4900 In closing, I would caution you and your staff not to discuss assessments with any adjacent landowners because it is a very sensitive issue. s' soon as we work up the figures for assessments, we will /present them to the City Council (via your office) for their ~ ~ consideration (December or Janua~).
