Re: Belt Line/Denton Tap Intersection, Coppell, Texas.
Dear Bob:
We have reviewed your proposal of August 20 for the realignment
of this intersection. We understand that this alignment would
have an intersection angle of lO0°, and would require 0.3693
acres of land at the northeast corner. At our meeting with City
officials on August 10, the owner of this property, Mr. Wm. G.
Thompson, indicated that he would be willing to give up as much
as 0.25 acres to the realignment. ~
We would therefore propose that an intersection~angle of 103°
be utilized. This will require Mr. Thompson to give up approxi-
mately 0.245 acres at the northeast corner. Using the same 940'
centerline radius which you have indicated, this increased angle
will move the curve from about 440' to about 330' from the center-
line of Denton Tap. This will also require less land at the
southwest corner of Southwestern Blvd. (Coppell Road).
An angle of 103° should provide adequate intersection angle,
centerline radius, and sight distance; and should therefore be
satisfactory to everyone concerned. As Mr. Thompson is also
interested in the timely resolution of this situation, we would
appreciate your comments on this alternative.
