Attached is our proposal for preparing a design to improve the
geometrics of the roadway intersection of Belt Line Road and
Denton Rap Road.
We have structured our proposal in a manner to permit you to
authorize the total work program suggested, or you may elect to
eliminate Phase II.
Following the conclusion of this project, we would be pleased to
submit a proposal to prepare the construction plans and specifica-
tions for the option that your Council selects.

PROPOSAL
DESIGN FOR BELT LINE ROAD AND DENTON TAP ROAD INTERSECTION
J8276
PURPOSE
The purpose of this project is to prepare a design to improve the
geometrics of the roadway intersection of Belt Line Road and Denton Tap
Road.
SCOPE OF WORK
The following scope of services will be performed by DeShazo, Starek &
Tang, Inc.
PHASE I - INTERSECTION DESIGN
2.1 Make appropriate site and traffic reconnaissance to determine
various physical constraints relating to the intersection design.
2.2 Make a 12-hour manual traffic count of the traffic movements on the
various approaches of the intersection.
2.3 Analyze the five design options presented by the City Manager; if
none is acceptable, develop a recommended scheme.
Prepare a geometric design for the recommended intersection
alignment.
2.5
Attend meeting to provide professional consultation to the City
Manager and City Council to respond to questions relative to the
design.
PHASE II - SIGNAL PHASING
Prepare a phasing diagram showing how the intersection might be
signalized in the future.
III. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CITY OF COPPELL
3.1
Provide the Consultant the five options that have been considered for
the intersection design.
3.2 Provide the Consultant with planning data and guidance concerning
the area in the vicinity of the intersection.

IV. COMPENSATION
4.1
The scope of work proposed will be performed for the following fixed
fees:
Phase I - $2,000.00
Phase II - 500.00
Payment will be made monthly on services performed during the prior
month.
