Ashton Ridge-CS 961122CENTEX HOMES November 22, 1996 Mr. Ken Griffin, P.E. City of Coppell 255 Parkway Boulevard Coppell, Texas 75019 RE: Ashton Ridge Development Dear Ken: 11 -25 -96 A10:23 IN I received a call from Mr. Bob Finley, associated with the above referenced development concerning the erosion control measures taken during construction of the project. Although Centex still controls the Board of Directors of the Parks of Coppell Homeowners Association, I cannot give an approval or disapproval of any measures taken to alleviate the erosion of soil into the Parks of Coppell canal system due to potential legal issues related to the Association. As a developer and local resident, however, I have inspected the Ashton Ridge site and found that extensive erosion control fencing has been placed around the project and internal to the subdivision. I noticed one inlet at the southern portion of the project lacking any trap for silt and would recommend correcting this. Haybales placed on a temporary basis in the street gutter line at several locations before surface runoff enters Heartz Road might also be a benefit to trap silt. Finally, given the volatile situation downstream of this project, I would recommend stabilization of the lots in the project with vegetative cover as soon as possible to protect the highly erodible sands from further runoff downstream. The Association will continue to work with Mr. Finley concerning erosion and runoff from the Ashton Ridge development over the next several months as resolution to the issues related to the canal system are resolved in the Parks of Coppell. If I may be of further assistance, please call. Sincerely, CENT HOMES n Derek E. Earle, P.E. Land Development Manager Dallas North Division cc: Mr. Bob Finley 1660 S.
