RE: Austin Place Addition
Construction Plans
Dear Mr. Payne:
The City of Coppell has received and reviewed the referenced plans and has the following
comments to offer:
1. Show 8' wide brick paver bands on all streets intersecting Moore Road and provide
a note "To be constructed as per the City of Coppell Standards".
2. ADA ramp to be located at the location of the brick paver bands.
3. The saw cut for the existing paving to be a full depth sawcut. Refer to Sheet 2 for
comments showing the location. Also, show full depth sawcut in construction joint
detail.
4. All barricading and channelization to be in conformance with TMUTCD
specifications.
5. Provide curb inlets for the east side of Moore Road at the location of storm sewer
stub outs (see Moore Road Drainage Plans).
6. Refer to Sheet 3 for the new telephone numbers of the utility companies.
7. Remove the notes on Sheets 4 & 5 regarding "Future Barrier Free Ramps... ".
8. Indicate the location of sidewalk located at the end on Austin Court cul-de-sac and
note to be constructed by the developer (Sheet 5). Also, ADA ramps and sidewalks
constructed by the developer need to have //3 rebar doweled out for future
connection.
9. On the Storm Sewer Plans, Sheet 7, the following comment needs to be addressed.
a. The note regarding the concrete collar should state "contractor to construct
minimum 1 foot thick concrete collar". Also, a concrete collar is required
where the 30" RCP joins the 36" RCP.
b. The water and sewer line crossings shown in the profile of the storm drainage
system are shown incorrectly. Please show the correct locations.
10. Manholes, instead of clean-outs, are required at the ends of sanitary sewer line 'B'
& 'D' because they exceed the City's maximum distances for clean-outs. Also, make
the changes on the sanitary sewer profile sheets.
11. On the Water and Sewer Plan sheets please remove the notes as indicated in the
general notes for water and sanitary sewer.
12. What happens to the drainage against the existing brick screen wall.'?
13. The north arrow on the erosion control plan is shown incorrectly.
Once these comments have been addressed, the revised set of plans should be resubmitted to the
City for review. If you should have any questions concerning these comments, please feel free
to contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Michael A. Martin. E.I.T.
Assistant City Engineer
