Construction Materials Testing

Gentlemen:
Submitted here are the results of testing and observation of
construction materials at the referenced project. This report
addresses activities for the period of April 1 through May 8, 1992.
On April 1 and 9, 1992, nine field density tests were taken on the
fill placed in Sanitary Sewer Line A. Test results are shown on
Plate 1. Where tested, compaction levels ranged from 95.4 to 98.7
percent with moisture contents at 0.3 percentage points below
optimum to 3.0 percentage points above optimum.
On April 23 and 24, 1992, gradations were performed on the cement-
treated subgrade in the proposed streets. Results are summarized on
Plate 2. Where tested, materials were found to be in excess of the
required 75 percent passing a 3/4-inch sieve. In addition, eight
field density tests were taken on the compacted cement-treated
subgrade. Results are shown on Plate 3. Where tested, compaction
levels ranged from 97.5 to 101.3 percent, with moisture contents
from 0.7 to 2.9 percentage points above optimum. Two samples of the
cement-treated subgrade were obtained for development of optimum
moisture-density relationships (Standard Proctor Curves). Test
results are attached as Plates 4 and 5.
On May 5 through 8, 1992, concrete placement began on Leigh Street
and Lynn Court. Compressive strength test results will be submitted
under separate cover.
