Re: Concrete Paving
Blooming Colors Nursery
1701 E. Beltline Road
Coppell, TX 75019
Dear Mr. Campbell,
In lieu of 6" of lime stabilization beneath the concrete paving, we
have increased the paving thickness to 6". Subgrade is to be
prepared as follows:
1. Ail vegetation and organic top soil shall be stripped
from the parking area, approximately 6".
2. Soil exposed by the stripping activities in fill areas or
transitional areas (fill to cut) should be scarified to
a depth on the order of 6 inches, and recompacted at
moisture content above optimum value (-1% to 3%) to at
least 95 percent of the maximum density determined by
Standard Proctor Procedures (ASTM D-698).
3. Fill areas, if required, are to be placed in 9" lifts and
compacted as specified in Number 2 above.
We believe this will obtain better performance of the paving on
this site.
very truly yours,
Randy L. Cooper, P.E.
