She and I agree that the Corps permit allows us to do an annual mowing of the channel. The language of the permit is very specific though, that the mowing must be done during the dormant period of the vegetation that is supposed to be there, which is defined as December to January. To make a long story short, we will be mowing this channel once per year beginning this winter. Because of the difficulty in gaining access with equipment, it will likely be done by hand with hand operated equipment (weed eaters). The work will be performed by VMI under contract to the city. I expect to send a letter to all homeowners adjacent to the channel prior to beginning the work this winter. We did perform some removal of woody material (weed trees) from the part of the channel behind the Hard 8 BBQ earlier this week, and will include this section of the channel in our annual maintenance as well. Thanks for the follow up, and we are looking forward to the start of another exciting school year. Let me know if you think of anything else. Keith Keith Marvin, P.E.
