ST1002-CS111109 (3) (4/19/2012) Keith Marvin - Old Town Coppell ConstructionPage 1 From: Keith Marvin To: tringo@coppellisd.com CC: Mindi Hurley, Ken Griffin Date: 11/9/2011 6:36 PM Subject: Old Town Coppell Construction Tamerah, Mindi asked me to send you some information on our Old Town construction project. We sent out several hundred letters on Monday, and made sure to send one to everyone that would be traveling through the work area to get to Pinkerton Elementary. We may have included the school, but we probably did not reach the appropriate people for the busing. Here is some info I sent out yesterday: The day has arrived when we are actually ready to begin construction. City Council awarded the project to JRJ Paving, Inc. on September 13th. Since that time we have been working with JRJ on their approach to the project. Due to the critical nature of Bethel Road, this is where their work will begin. Their utility contractor will begin work in the intersection of S. Coppell/Mitchell and Bethel on Wednesday. For the balance of this week they will be maintaining traffic in all directions through the use of flagmen. Beginning as early as next Monday (11/14) they will close Bethel Road at this intersection. During this closure, they will maintain a detour between S. Coppell Road and Bethel, and a detour between Mitchell and Bethel. Through traffic will be detoured through the old Market site. The intention is to re-open this intersection before JRJ continues work on Bethel Road. The closure is expected to last approximately two weeks. Upon re-opening the intersection, JRJ then proposes to close half of Bethel Road from West of Mitchell/Coppell through the Hard-8 BBQ. During this closure, traffic will be maintained one-way in the westbound direction. This portion is expected to last approximately 90 days We are updating our construction information page to contain up to date information and detour maps throughout the project. Please see the city web site for more information. Please pass this information, and my contact information along to your busing folks. I'm happy to talk to them about the project, and meet with them if needed to discuss the details. Thanks, Keith Marvin 972-304-3681
