Coppell Road/Mitchell.   Once the Old Town Project is complete we will begin work on the remainder of Bethel Road, as well as the piece of Coppell Road from Cooper to Bethel.  The Coppell Road portion will look just like the part from Cooper to the north.  We will have an 8 foot sidewalk on the west side of the road, and a 4 foot walk on the east side of the road.  This project will begin in late 2012, or early 2013 depending on the actual completion date of the current project.   I also happen to live on Plantation Drive, so I too share your desire to see this sidewalk completed.  Thanks for taking the time to look at our web site, and for contacting us with your questions.  Feel free to call me with any other questions you may have.           Keith Marvin, P.E. Project Engineer (972) 304-3681 >>> Lora <lrmisc@yahoo.com> 1/8/2012 10:50 AM >>> Hi, I live on Magnolia Drive. I have been keeping up on the construction that is being done in Old Coppell as I am very excited about the improvements. One thing that I cannot tell from the Construction Projects page of the City of Coppell website is whether or not sidewalks are going to be installed from the intersection of S. Coppell Road/Cooper Lane to Bethel Road. Right now, there are sidewalks along all of S. Coppell road except from Cooper to Bethel. The lack of sidewalk prevents us from walking to the Farmers Market each Saturday. I see the update (below) on the website, but it does not say anything about the installation of sidewalks. Please let me know if sidewalks are part of the plan and if not, how the residents in the neighborhoods around Plantation/Magnolia/Copper/etc. are supposed to get to Old Town (on foot) without getting hit by a car. Thank you! Lora Gardner, 253 Magnolia Drive. file://C:\Documents and Settings\radloo\Local Settings\Temp\XPgrpwise\4F0AA4E3City_...4/23/2012 Page 2 of 2 #ST 03-01 - BETHEL RD. II-B (Bethel Rd. from Penfolds Ln. to S. Coppell Rd./Mitchell St. & Coppell Rd. from Bethel Rd. to Cooper Ln.)   A design contract for Bethel Road was awarded to Freese & Nichols, Inc. in 2003. The project consists of the reconstruction of the existing 2-lane asphalt road, storm drain improvements, and the replacement of water and sewer lines. The project is in the design phase and the construction plans are 90% complete. Construction is anticipated to start in late 2012 after completion of the Old Town Coppell infrastructure improvements. file://C:\Documents and Settings\radloo\Local Settings\Temp\XPgrpwise\4F0AA4E3City_...4/23/2012
