To the City of Coppell,
As requested, the submitted drawings show three different options for the monument sign
located at 750 N Denton Tap Road. We currently have twenty-one fuel stations in
operation throughout Texas which utilize leading Light Emitting Diode(LED)
technology. A few of the key reasons United uses LED's are that it requires the least
amount of maintenance;complies with our energy consumption reduction goals; greatly
reduces repair and maintenance; helps reduce our carbon footprint;provides real time
price changes to respond to market fluctuations; eliminates flicker effect and mercury
gases common to fluorescent lamps;eliminates the potential for wind blown and
unsightly price plates as well as provides our team members' a safe process to execute
price changes.
I lnited is requesting to install Option 1 which utilizes LED technology for the price
communicator as well as the backlit logo. We feel this variance request is in line with
our mission statement of"Ultimate Service, Superior Performance, Positive Impact".
More importantly, we feel that it is the right solution for our team members,our guests,
your community as well as the global environment.
Please know that United is excited about bringing our flagship Market Street concept to
your community and we will follow through with our mission statement! If you have any
